Baccarat is one of the easiest casino games to learn. All you need to do is choose one of three betting options and let the dealer handle the rest.
Banker draws 8, Player draws 7. Banker wins. The Banker bet holder wins RM190 on a RM100 wager.

Baccarat has long reigned as the king of casino games across Asia, and Malaysia is no exception. From the gaming floors of Genting Highlands to online platforms, baccarat has always been the first game players gravitate towards when they want an authentic casino experience. MA888 understands the special place baccarat holds in Malaysian gaming culture, which is why we have made a serious investment in building the most complete and highest-quality collection of live baccarat tables for local players.
What sets the baccarat experience at MA888 apart from other platforms is the video streaming quality and the professionalism of our dealers. We partner with the world's leading live casino providers — Evolution Gaming, SA Gaming and Microgaming. These dealers are trained professionals who conduct every round with precision, following strict procedures that ensure each round is fair and transparent. You can clearly see every card placed on the table, every shuffle performed in front of the camera, and every result announced live.
For players new to baccarat, the core concept is straightforward. You are not playing against the dealer — instead, you bet on whether the "Banker" or the "Player" hand will have a total value closer to 9. Cards 2 through 9 are worth their face value. Cards 10, J, Q, and K are worth 0, while an Ace is worth 1. If the total of two cards exceeds 9, only the second digit counts — for example, 7 and 6 add up to 13, making the hand value 3. A Natural 8 or 9 on the first two cards is the strongest hand in baccarat, and no third card will be drawn.
When it comes to the smartest betting option, the statistics are clear: the Banker bet is the best choice in baccarat. The house edge on the Banker bet is just 1.06%, making it one of the most favourable bets in the entire casino world. Do note that the Banker bet typically carries a 5% commission on winnings — meaning if you win RM100 on a Banker bet, you actually receive RM95. MA888 also offers a No Commission Baccarat variant at SA Gaming where no commission is charged on Banker wins, though slight rule adjustments apply to certain rounds.
The Player bet carries a slightly higher house edge of 1.24%, which is still highly competitive compared to most other casino games. The Tie bet, while tempting with its 8x payout, comes with a significantly higher house edge of 14.36% — most baccarat experts recommend avoiding the Tie bet as a core strategy. That said, for players who want an occasional change of pace, the Tie bet can be an exciting option once you have a better feel for the flow of the game.
Experienced Malaysian baccarat players often rely on the Road Map to track patterns in previous results. MA888 provides a full road map display on every live baccarat table, including the Big Road, Bead Plate, Big Eye Road, Small Road, and Cockroach Road. These tools let players monitor how many consecutive times Banker, Player, or Tie has won, and are commonly used to get a feel for the game's "pattern" — even though technically each round is independent of the last.
MA888 offers over 20 baccarat table variants to suit all types of players. Speed Baccarat is a popular choice for players who prefer a faster game — each round is completed in approximately 27 seconds, significantly quicker than a standard baccarat table which takes 40 to 60 seconds. This means you can fit in more rounds in the same amount of time, which also means more chances to win. Baccarat Squeeze, on the other hand, delivers a dramatic experience where the dealer slowly reveals each card corner by corner, adding tension to every round.

No strategy can guarantee a win, but a few basic approaches can help you make smarter decisions at the table.
The Banker bet carries the lowest house edge in baccarat at just 1.06%. Even with a 5% commission applied, it remains the statistically strongest bet at the table. Experienced baccarat players at MA888 tend to stick with the Banker bet consistently.
Before sitting down at an MA888 baccarat table, set a firm limit on the maximum amount you are prepared to lose. Once that limit is reached, walk away. Financial discipline is the foundation of responsible baccarat play.
The Tie bet offers an enticing 8:1 payout, but a house edge of 14.36% means you can expect to lose RM14.36 for every RM100 wagered over the long run. Use the Tie bet very sparingly at MA888.
The road map on MA888 displays patterns from previous results. Technically each round is independent, but many players use the road map to guide their decisions — follow whichever approach you are comfortable with, but avoid relying on it entirely.
Never bet more than 2–5% of your total bankroll in a single round. For example, if you have RM500 to play baccarat at MA888, stick to RM10–RM25 per round to keep yourself in the game longer.
